Set Up Receipt and KOT Printers in Minutes

Printer Setup Guide

ParcelPOS supports all major thermal printer types: Bluetooth for mobile flexibility, WiFi/network for shared kitchen printers, and USB for desktop setups. Configure separate printers for customer receipts and kitchen KOTs. Print bills, KOTs, and daily reports with crisp thermal output.

Benefits

Bluetooth Printer Support

Pair a Bluetooth thermal printer with your Android phone or tablet. Ideal for tableside billing, mobile order taking, and restaurants without network infrastructure. Popular brands like Epson, TVS, and generic 58mm/80mm printers are supported.

WiFi/Network Printers

Connect network thermal printers for shared use across multiple devices. Place a WiFi printer in the kitchen and all waiter devices can send KOTs to it. Ideal for multi-device setups with a local network.

USB Printer Support

Connect USB thermal printers to your Windows desktop running ParcelPOS Server. Perfect for stationary cashier counters where the printer stays connected to one machine. Reliable and fast printing.

Separate Receipt and KOT Printers

Configure one printer for customer receipts at the billing counter and another for KOT printing in the kitchen. ParcelPOS routes print jobs automatically based on the configured printer roles.

Customizable Print Layout

Configure what appears on your receipts: restaurant name, logo, GSTIN, FSSAI number, footer message, and more. KOT printouts show table number, order type, item details, and special instructions.

Setup Guide

1

Choose Your Printer Type

Decide on Bluetooth (for mobile devices), WiFi/Network (for shared kitchen printing), or USB (for Windows desktop). For most setups, a Bluetooth printer for billing and a WiFi printer in the kitchen works best. Popular choices include any 80mm or 58mm ESC/POS compatible thermal printer.

2

Connect the Printer

For Bluetooth: Pair the printer with your Android device from system Bluetooth settings. For WiFi: Connect the printer to your local WiFi network and note its IP address. For USB: Plug the printer into your Windows PC and install drivers if needed.

3

Configure in ParcelPOS

Open ParcelPOS Settings and go to Printer Configuration. Tap "Add Printer" and select the connection type. For Bluetooth, select your paired printer from the list. For WiFi, enter the IP address and port. Assign the printer a role: "Receipt Printer" or "KOT Printer".

4

Test and Start Printing

Use the "Print Test Page" button to verify the connection. Check alignment, text clarity, and paper width. Adjust settings if needed (paper width, font size, margins). Once the test print looks good, you are ready to start billing.

Frequently Asked Questions

ParcelPOS supports any ESC/POS compatible thermal printer, which includes the vast majority of receipt printers. Popular choices in India include generic 80mm Bluetooth printers (available on Amazon for Rs. 3,000 to Rs. 5,000), Epson TM series, TVS RP series, and Rongta printers. Both 58mm (2 inch) and 80mm (3 inch) paper widths are supported.
Yes. This is a recommended setup. Configure a printer at the billing counter for customer receipts and a separate printer in the kitchen for KOTs. ParcelPOS automatically routes the correct print job to the correct printer based on the assigned role.
No. Bluetooth printers connect directly to your device without internet. WiFi printers work over your local network, which also does not require internet. USB printers connect physically to the computer. Printing is entirely an offline, local operation.
Yes, if the kitchen printer is a WiFi/network printer. Your phone (connected to the same WiFi) can send KOTs to the kitchen printer wirelessly. For Bluetooth printers, the device needs to be within Bluetooth range (typically 10 meters).
For customer receipts, 80mm (3 inch) thermal paper rolls are standard and recommended. They provide enough width for GST-compliant invoices with tax breakup. For KOT printing, both 58mm and 80mm work well. Buy thermal paper rolls in bulk from Amazon or local stationery suppliers. A box of 50 rolls typically costs Rs. 800 to Rs. 1,200.
